Failure
During scheduled replenishment, the NDD Orbix portal suggests a supply different from the one used by the printer or a quantity that does not match the customer’s needs.
Cause
The suggestion may be incorrect when:
-
There are duplicate supplies or supplies with differing capacities for the same part number.
-
The compatibility between the supply and the printer model is configured incorrectly.
-
The minimum and maximum levels at the delivery location do not match the customer’s policy or usage profile.
-
The inventory balance on the portal is out of date compared to the physical stock.
-
The consumption forecast does not yet have sufficient historical data to generate an accurate suggestion.
Solution
Validate the suggestion before confirming the demand generation. Automatic suggestions can be reviewed and adjusted according to the customer’s needs.
-
Confirm which supply is actually installed in the printer (part number and capacity) and compare it with what is registered on the portal
-
Check for duplicate supplies or those with slight variations in description that could cause confusion
-
Review the compatibility configuration between the supply and the printer model, as instructed at Link compatibility between printer and product
-
Confirm which supply is set as the default by the company for the model/customer on the portal
-
Enter the initial stock quantity for each supply linked to a delivery location, as instructed at Change product inventory for delivery locations
-
Set the safety stock level (minimum stock) for each supply in accordance with company policy, as instructed at Create safety stock rule for delivery locations
-
Compare the balance displayed at the delivery location on the portal with the physical stock (item count)
-
Review the equipment’s consumption and exchange history on the portal to assess whether the forecast is consistent
-
Correct all incorrect parameters identified, such as supplies, compatibility, levels, delivery location, and others
-
Generate the scheduled replenishment after completing the adjustments
-
Confirm that the suggested supply and quantity meet the customer’s needs
If manual adjustments are required frequently, review the configuration of supplies, delivery locations, and compatibilities on the portal.
