Failure
A supply is displayed on the NDD Orbix portal with an initial level of less than 100%, leading the user to interpret it as a premature exchange.
Cause
Equipment monitoring began when the supply was already installed and in use.
In this case, the first reading recorded by the portal represents the available level at the time monitoring began, not the installation of a new supply. Therefore, the initial level may show any partial value, such as 36% or 50%.
Solution

In the NDD Orbix portal, confirm the start date of equipment monitoring (first recorded reading of the supply)

Check the equipment history and verify whether any supply exchanges were recorded before monitoring began

Confirm that monitoring began during the supply’s usage cycle, not at the time of its installation

Access the supplies in use section for the equipment, as instructed at View printer inventory | Supplies

Compare the displayed initial level with the deployment context
Example: monitoring was initiated by the portal when the toner was already at 40% capacity. -
Do not classify the occurrence as a premature exchange when there is evidence that the supply was already installed before data collection began

Track the supply until the next actual exchange, allowing the portal to record a full usage cycle

Use subsequent cycles to analyze consumption and make decisions based on a more complete history
The analysis should consider the entire history of equipment readings on the portal.
