Failure
When manually editing fields such as printer name, location address, or location contact name for a network printer, the changes are automatically overwritten shortly thereafter.
Cause
Automatic data capture via MIB is enabled for the customer to which the network printer belongs. When this capture is active, the system automatically updates the fields with data extracted from the MIB, overwriting any manual changes.
Solution
If you want to keep the manually edited data, you will need to remove the customer from the automatic capture configuration for the desired field(s).
When you remove the customer from the automatic capture configuration, no network printer associated with that customer (current or future) will have its data captured automatically. Updating these fields will then depend exclusively on manual edits.
