When using the nddDcaSettingsConfigurator tool, responsible for the Gateway Connector proxy configuration, in some scenarios the absence of the GatewaySettings key generated an error that caused the application to close unexpectedly.

The correction implemented ensures that the proxy configuration by the tool can be performed without failures.

New features

Generating installers on the portal

Deploying the agent on devices has become much simpler and faster!

With the new feature, you can generate installers directly from the portal, already configured according to each customer's needs. This reduces process steps, brings more agility to technicians, and improves the user experience for both customers and end users.

Installer generation is available in the menu Installations > Installers > Generate installer. The available installers are:

Install Network Printer Monitoring: for monitoring network printers. The installer can be configured to search for printers automatically, without having to return to the portal to configure the service. After installation, the monitoring rules are created automatically.
Install Local Monitoring: for monitoring USB printers, network thermal printers, USB thermal printers, computers, software, queues and drivers, and EcoPrint. After installation, you must enable and configure the service rules in the portal.
Install Cloud Communicator: for installing the Gateway Connector.

The download link can be sent by email to portal users or external contacts. Each link generated is valid for 90 days. After this period, a new link must be generated.

The installer is customized per customer and cannot be used on other customers besides the one selected at the time of generation.

Improvements

Automatic address search by broadcast (Service: NDD - Printer Monitor)

The purpose of this improvement is to simplify and automate the initial configuration process of the application, allowing printers available on the network to be automatically detected immediately after installation.

To do this, we have implemented a feature that, immediately after installing the application on the customer's computer, identifies the network and sends a broadcast on the local network to search for and list compatible printers.

The feature impacts the initial installation process of the application by installers generated with this configuration, which now includes an automatic printer discovery step.

Information

This update may generate an increase in network traffic during the initial installation due to broadcasting on congested networks, so monitoring is recommended; however, there is no significant impact on performance or security as long as network permissions are configured correctly.

Persistence and versioning of the local database (Service: NDD - Printer Monitor)

The purpose of this improvement is to ensure that the local database is maintained between versions, preventing loss of information during updates.

Now, the local database is stored in a different directory and has versioning, allowing it to be preserved even after upgrades.

This feature impacts the initial installation and agent update processes, which now use a persistent database between versions.

With this change, the environment becomes more stable, preventing data loss during updates and helping to prevent failures such as sending duplicate alerts.

Duplicate alerts (Service: NDD - Printer Monitor)

The system sent more than one alert for the same event because some information was processed again in certain situations.

The failure occurred during DCA and Cloud Connector agent updates, when data that had already been processed was reused incorrectly.

To fix this, we adjusted the agent's internal behavior to prevent the same event from being resent, ensuring that only one alert is issued for each occurrence.

High CPU consumption when monitoring queues with Canon Generic Plus PS3 driver (Service: NDD - Supply Watch)

When sending prints to queues configured with the Canon Generic Plus PS3 driver, EcoPrint triggered the ncParser library to capture print data. In certain situations, the library crashed, causing CPU consumption to increase to the maximum level.

The problem occurred specifically when EcoPrint was configured to monitor queues that used the Canon Generic Plus PS3 driver.

To fix this, we updated the ncParser library to the latest version, which contains stability and performance improvements.
