IMPROVEMENT | Version update of the Microsoft .NET Runtime and Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime prerequisites

The Microsoft .NET Runtime and Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime prerequisites have been updated to version 8.0.30.

FIX | Antivirus blocking during installation

To allow communication between the DCA and Cloud Connector and the NDD Orbix portal via the Gateway Connector, a valid digital certificate must be installed on the computer.

Previously, the certificate was included in the installer and registered in the Windows Certificate Store via a script. During installation, the installer created a temporary copy of this script to run it. Although the content was the same, this copy did not have a digital signature. In some environments, antivirus software identified the file as invalid and blocked the installation.

To fix this, we changed the certificate registration process. The script was replaced by a Custom Action (CA), preventing antivirus software from blocking the installation.

IMPROVEMENT | Display additional information about the computer model

On some equipment, the Model field in the registration data may display the machine type code (such as 21CB) instead of the commercial name (such as ThinkPad X1 Carbon), which can make it difficult to identify the computer.

To supplement this information, we have started collecting the Family field (product line/family). The value collected will be displayed in the Secondary model field of the computer’s registration data.

With this update, model information is presented more clearly on the portal, making it easier to identify equipment.

FIX | Duplicates in the software inventory

To avoid semantic duplicates in software collection, we apply the following filters:

• In the Windows Registry, the ARP visibility filter.

• In the AppModel collector, the system MSIX package filter.
