The safety stock rule allows you to define an additional percentage of items that must be kept at the delivery location to ensure the continuity of the customer’s operations.
The goal is to maintain a safety stock, preventing supply shortages and ensuring a continuous supply of devices.
Whenever a scheduled replenishment is generated, the safety rule (if configured) will be taken into account when calculating the required quantities.
The safety calculation considers:
-
The total quantity of devices of the same model at the delivery location;
-
The type and color of the product used.
Printers of the same model, at the same delivery location, that use products of the same type and color share the same safety stock.
Example
If there are 10 printers of model ABC and a safety rule of 50% is configured for the Ribbon product, the platform will calculate that the safety level for this product type and color corresponds to 5 additional units.
Each delivery location can have multiple safety rules. Duplicate rules with the same combination of printer model and product type and color are not allowed.

Instructions
Create a safety rule for multiple delivery locations
-
Go to the Supplies > Delivery locations menu
-
Select the desired delivery locations
-
Click the Safety rule button
-
Enter the safety rule information:
-
Select the printer models to which the rule will apply, if you want
-
Select the product type and color to which the rule will apply
-
Enter the safety percentage to be applied, from 1% to 1000%
-
-
Click the Save button
The rule will be applied to all selected locations that match the specified characteristics. It can be viewed, edited, or deleted in the properties of each delivery location.
Example 1
The safety rule has been configured as follows:
-
Model: A, B, and C
-
Type: XYZ
-
Percentage: 15%
A 15% safety rule will be created for models A, B, and C, regarding the XYZ product, at all selected locations that have these models.
Example 2
The safety rule was configured as follows:
-
Type: XYZ
-
Percentage: 30%
A 30% safety rule will be created for the XYZ product, regardless of the printer model, at all selected locations.
Specific rules (with model, type, and color) take precedence over general rules (with only type and color).
Duplicate rules with the same combination of model, type, and color are not allowed.
The exclusion of a safety rule does not eliminate the history or demands already generated, and does not affect the product balance in inventory.
