Install the gateway on Windows

When communication between the DCA and Cloud Connector agent and the NDD Orbix portal is carried out using a gateway, it is necessary to install the Gateway Connector before installing the DCA and Cloud Connector agent.

Warning

Although the DCA and Cloud Connector agent is installed on Linux, the Gateway Connector must be installed on Windows.

Instructions

Follow the steps below to download and install the Gateway Connector:

Step 1. Download the gateway file

Download the customized installer from the portal

Who can use this feature

Users with the Administrator or Generate installer permission

  1. On the portal, create the client as instructed at Create customer, site and department

  2. After creating the client, access the menu Installations > Installers > Generate installer

  3. In the Install Communicator with the Cloud option, click Select

  4. Click Generate installer

  5. In the side tab, select the desired customer

  6. Click the Generate installer button

  7. Copy the generated installer link or click Send by email to send the installer link to the configured emails
    When pasted into the browser, the file download will start automatically.

    1. When you click on Send by email, a side tab will open

    2. Define the recipients:

      1. System emails: select users registered on the NDD Orbix portal;

      2. External emails: enter the email address in the field indicated and click on Add. Repeat the process until you have included all the desired emails;

      3. Both.

    3. Click the Send installer button to immediately send the installer link to the configured emails

The link is valid for 90 days. After this period, you will need to generate a new installer.

Download the installer
  1. On the portal, create the client as instructed at Create customer, site and department

  2. After creating the client, download the Gateway Connector installer file:

NDD_GatewayConnector_1.1.2.exe

  1. Run the installed file

  2. Select the desired language and click on Next

  3. Click Next on the installer's home screen

  4. Choose the Installation folder and Work folder and click Next

  5. Enter the Provider name and Customer identification key and click Next

Tip

How to find information on the portal:

  • Provider name: in the upper right corner, below your name:

  • Customer identification key: in the customer properties:

  1. Go to the Administration > Customers menu

  2. Click on the name of the desired customer to open its properties

  3. In the Info tab, copy the Identification key

  1. Enter Proxy settings if it is required, and click Next

  2. Click Install

  3. Wait for installation and click Finish

Step 2. Install the gateway in the environment

  1. Check the installation prerequisites at Agent installation prerequisites

  2. On the computer or server where the Gateway Connector is to be installed, run the downloaded file

  3. Select the desired language and click Next

  4. Click Next on the installer's initial screen

  5. Choose the Installation folder and Working folder and click Next

  6. Enter the Proxy settings, if necessary, and click Next

  7. Click Install

  8. Wait for the installation to complete and click Finish

Step 3. Install the agent in the environment

All equipment where the DCA agent and Cloud Connector are installed must point to the address (IP address or hostname) of the computer/server where the Gateway Connector was installed.
